Remember the highly anticipated Camp Nexus?

It came and went and here's some of the pics from the camp.

Some of the games that we played.. was totally interesting... 2 groups were formed... and we were given costumes and we have to create a short story... as you can see from below, those are the 2 groups formed!

We're very sorry for not updating the blog for the past 6 months, due to all of our hectic events that took our time away...

Once again, Truly sorry.

This entry will be devoted for an external event that Dramatec took part in January.

14TH JANUARY 2006.

Inter-Poly Drama Society (IPDS) organized an event called Genesis in which 3 polys came together to put up a show. A double bill event that ran over a period of 3 days.

At 7pm,

We did SINS.

7 actors/actresses.

7 costumes.

7 Monologues.

7 Deadly Sins.

7 reactions.

7 dances.

7 colours.
Pride (purple), Greed (Gold), Envy (Green), Wrath (Red), Sloth (Dark Blue), Gluttony (Orange), Lust (Turqouise).

We bring to you.. SINS.

Let me now introduce you to the various sins.

DT: Why did you decide to take up drama?
Fadzley: *laughs*

DT: Funny meh? No seriously, why?
Fadzley: I decided to take up drama because I love acting. It is my passion and I enjoy the arts thus I took up drama

DT: What is your most unforgettable moment with DramaTec?
Fadzley: My most unforgettable moment with DramaTec was during our previous production, "Magus Luna 2005". It was the time when we get to enjoy each other performances and spend the quality time together and having fun. Honestly, every moment with DramaTec is actually my most unforgettable moment.

DT: What do you hope to see from DT in the future?
Fadzley: I hope to see more new faces and talents in DramaTec in the near future. I hope that DramaTec can have more productions so that we are well known in Singapore, because DT deserves it. Haha! Do I make sense?
DT: Yes, I think so.

DT: Any tips for stage acting?
Fadzley: Have courage and stage discipline. You will need it to put up a great performance that is worth watching..

DT: How does it feel to be member of the month January?!
Fadzley: I feel honoured and appreciated that I am recognised as member of the month. However, in DramaTec, everyone is a star member regardless of the month, age and race.
DT: You sounded like a pageant contestant!

DT: Finally, why did the chicken cross the road?!
Fadzley: Because it saw a Zebra crossing.

Magical Magical Night.

Performance Day - 29th October 2005

Magus Luna - A review by Nadira

Latin for Magical Night.
Direct translation: Magic Moon.

It was a series of performance where the members were given the opportunity to come up with their own script, direct their own performance. They are even in control of how they would like their lighting to be, etc.

It was the first time DramaTec have ever taken this approach of providing their members with such a platform. It was definitely a bold and risk step for us but it definitely creates opportunities for creativity.

It was a night that definitely lived up to its name. The emotions. The performances. The excitement. The dedication. No words would be able to describe whatever that was performed that night. The audience came not knowing what to expect and they left wondering when it will happen again. And it will happen again, annually in fact.

For the committee it was like a parent witnessing their child taking their first step, speaking their first word or even smiling for the very first time.

It was just amazing. Some will definitely call it magic.

But that's what it is. Magus Luna

You have to be there to witness its magic!

It was a musical on Julius Ceasar put up at Ngee Ann Poly. DramaTec went to watch it as a group. And we definitely had fun during the interval.

29th & 30th December was definitely 2 of the most unforgettable nights in most of the members' lives. After months of rehearsals and suddenly, within the blink of an eye, the production is suddenly over.

A Drama Production by DramaTec

Written in 1917, based on a true story by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, Devdas is one who is loved by all, yet his temperamental ways lead him to disastrous outcomes. His life is filled with mistakes and harsh circumstances that cause him to lose his family, his love and finally his life. This production is supported by SAA and TPSU.
